Zach was drunk. Well, he wasn't drunk, but he was on his way. He wasn't upset about anything, and he wasn't trying to forget his life. Actually, he was celebrating. His life was nearly perfect, with the small exception of Kade and Brit's problems and Sara still being an addict. Zach knew that Kade and Brittany were going to get through this, and they were going to be as happy as ever. It was just a matter of time. He felt sure about that much. Sara, on the other hand...Zach was going to have to go to Colorado and drag her back to Seattle with him this summer. The only way she was going to get better was if she was around people that love and care for her, and he couldn't help but doubt that she knew many of those people in Colorado. He'd been a little worried about Kade and Brit because they both had been kind of sulky lately, but it was to be expected. He was always worried about Sara, but he could hardly consider that bothersome anymore. It was just a part of his life. Other than that, his life was almost passible as perfect. Things at work had been going well, with the small exception of one bastard by the name of Kale Davis. He was pretty sure that Kale had been taken care of, but you never know with slime. Still, business was booming nnone the less and money was starting to really pour in. He had found an apartment he really liked on 4th Avenue, and he was currently in the proccess of being able to call it his own. Not to mention, Tyler Durden was back in town. They had always been nearly inseperable. When she wasn't in class and he wasn't doing stuff for work, they were always together. She was just so great to be around. Tonight she was busy, so Zach was alone at the bar, just having himself a good old time as he ordered his fourth beer this hour. He had a good tolerance for alcohol (years of practice did that to you), so it took quite a bit for him to get drunk anymore. The beer was beginning to give him a buzz, though. That was something. He sat there and gulped down the glass of beer, his thoughts still clear as day in his mind. He no longer was worried about getting drunk or doing something stgupid. He wasn't drinking to drink. He was drinking to celebrate.
He got another beer and sipped this one as he looked around. Jared's was crowded, just like it always was. He was up for just about anything. He felt like nothing could touch him right now. What he wasn't thinking was that he was going to get drunk, laid, and yelled at, but it was bound to happen eventually. He didn't think that one drunken night could change everything. To be honest, he wasn't really thinking about anything that concerned his future. His mind was drifting in and out. The place was filled with gorgeous girls, like it was every night. Zach wasn't concerned with them, though. In his buzzed state, curiousity was beginning to get the best of him concerning a pretty redhead on the dance floor. Zach had known Tish Martin about as well as he knew Ali, meaning that he knew them, had met them before and everything, but they weren't the kind of girl he would consider his friend. They were more of his friend's friend's, or girlfriends, or flings, or whatever the hell they were. Tish was friendlier with Micah and Kade, and even though she and Brit didn't used to get along, he wasn't sure what exactly was going on with them now. All of these relationships she had with his friends might make someone who knew Zach well wonder how he hadn't really interacted with her. Zach wasn't one of those people who didn't like to meet new people. Over the last few months he'd met hundreds of new people, and he'd liked it. He liked meeting people, and even though he didn't get to know them, that was okay. He wasn't shy by any means. Maybe it was just because Tish had never really seemed interested in getting to know him. Right now he couldn't take note of that little fact. He gulped down the last drops of beer and took a break, letting the alcohol absorb into his system.
He wasn't sure why his interest in Tish had suddenly peaked tonight, but he couldn't deny it. She was beautiful, there was no doubt about that, and even though he didn't conciously realize it he had been staring at her for the past twenty minutes. He didn't really have that many questions to ask her, but he just wanted to get to know her a little better. He felt like he should know her considering his best friend had dated her at one point, and one of his girl friends had such an interesting relationship with her, not to mention that they saw each other all the time. He was just wondering why they'd never really gotten around to talking. Technically speaking, that wasn't true. They'd gotten into a couple of discussions, but nothing that really brought them closer together. He didn't know exactly what posessed him to do it, but he found himself standing and making his way over to the dance floor to join Tish. He made his way through this crowd to where she was dancing and stood there awkwardly for a second before stepping in front of her and looking down into her eyes. "Mind if I join you?" he asked. The alcohol was really starting to sink in, because he was relaxed, smiling at her with Zach's famous grin.
