Ali really couldn’t lie. She was a little happy inside that she was good enough in bed to be bragged about. She knew enough about Kale Davis that he wouldn’t brag about something if it really wasn’t that great. What she wasn’t happy about was that he had to go and do it to her boyfriend. The man he knew she was dating. Kale had taken advantage of her drunken state. To be honest, Ali could not even remember what she had done with him, what had happened, all she remembered was waking up and leaving that morning. She really could not understand why he had had to do that. Kale had to have figured that she had not told him yet. She had fully told Kale what she was doing that day and that she wouldn’t be seeing Micah till she went to Jared’s later that night. To be honest that pissed Ali off more than anything else. Why couldn’t he have just waited till she was able to tell him. She figured that Micah would have taken things a lot better. That was one thing she was sure of. That was just about the only thing that Ali was sure of.
She really had no idea how she could do hat to him. The way he had moved away from her kiss. He had never done that before, and she really had never figured that he ever would. She never thought that Micah could actually be mad at her, but the way he had moved away from her lips that he seemed to love so much; that ad told her he was mad. That also gave her the clue that she had royally screwed this up. She was sure that things were over between them. She had figured from the beginning that it would be him who messed things up. Yet, it was her who had made thing a huge mess. Bigger than she had ever seen before. Kale Davis… Kale freaking Davis, why him? Why couldn’t she have picked someone else, not that she picked anyone, because she didn’t. She just wished she had ended up in someone else’s bed. Anyone else’s bed but his, why Kale Davis’? She honestly couldn’t believe she had actually left with him, that inconsiderate asshole.
The worst part was that kale was having all too much fun with this. Him taking pleasure in being able to brag to Micah about being with her again, him sauntering off like nothing had ever happened, and him just standing off to the side, leaning back, sipping his beer, and smiling about what he knew was happening. He liked to be able to cause the conflicts between people. Especially with people he hated, and it was obvious that Kale hated Micah. Wow, did this suck. Kale was such an ass. How could someone take such pleasure in hurting others. Hurting people who didn’t deserve to be hurt… like Micah. Micah had not deserved what had happened to him. She had never planned for that to happen, nor did she ever want that to happen. Yet it had. All because of that ass Kale Davis. Well, he didn’t know what was coming to him, but it sure as hell was coming, and it wasn’t pleasant. Ali didn’t even know what it was yet, but she would figure something out.
He answered her question, and his tone was quiet, and she could see as plain as day by the way he looked at her that he was ready to lay right the hell into her. Yeah, that had been the dumbest excuse ever in history, but it wasn’t as bad as: “Well she or he kissed me first.” No, that was the worst excuse ever, or “I couldn’t push her off.” Those were dumb, but now Micah had turned from her, leading her towards the back lounge area where the two had been many times, however, he didn’t stop there, he kept moving towards the other room. It was an office. The smells were mixed to her senses. Something like a musty cellar would smell. However, it wasn’t something terrible. It actually relaxed her, till Micah shut the door quite forcefully behind her. Shit. There was no returning from this. Nope, wasn’t even a possibility. Yeah, so Tish was ther every day, and how was she suppose to know that he didn’t sleep with her. He said he didn’t, but that really did not mean anything. Well, yes it did, Ali trusted him.
She really did trust him. Apparently, though, Micah had trusted her quite a bit, and it was plain to see that she really had hurt him. His comment on him telling her no for a change really did sting her. Yeah, that had made her mad, but that was not the reason why she had gone out for the drink. It wasn’t like she had planned to cheat on him, it just had happened. His voice had risen to quite a measure of loudness, and it really shocked her. Even the day before when she had been being the biggest bitch in the world he had not raised his voice to her. Though, she could not say anything. He was way more than justified to yell and scream and cuss all he wanted. She had done something terrible, something unforgivable. Something that she would never have wished on her worst enemy. She knew he was going to dump her, and she would just leave. She would go back to New York and she would get reengaged to Darack. That would at least make her Father ecstatic. Yet, she wasn’t giving up yet.
No, Micah’s job didn’t fit into her lifestyle. She was very high class, she was very rich, and she was very well known, yet she didn’t care. She loved him. She was so close to being able to tell him those three words that she was fighting so hard to keep inside. He was dragging them out of her, though. He made her want to say them again. He made her want to take all of her walls down and never want to put them up again. That was so scary for her. The thought of Micah being able to do so much damage to her heart made her scared as hell. She had learned so much in the matter of a day and half about him, and that scared her too. Micah was a murderer, and a drug dealer. What a lovely combination, however he had said he hardly used and he wasn’t one of those dangerous gangster. But, one can really never be sure, can they? She was trying to be careful with herself now, and he wasn’t something that was careful to be around. Ali was freaking okay with it. She was fucking over the fact that he was a dealer. She didn’t care, she loved him and that was all that mattered. His job did not mean a thing to her, and when he grew to love her more… Well, if he grew to love her more, she would eventually convince him to quit it. It wasn’t like he had to work when he was with her. She was more than able to support them both without any trouble, them still being a spoiled couple.
Then Micah moved away from the door, and she flinched and stepped quickly out of his way. Yeah, she was a little afraid. All those instincts from Darack still rested within her, and her first instinct was the be submissive, very very submissive. Yet, Ali didn’t want to make up excuses for herself. She didn’t want to try and come up with something that justified what she had done. That wasn’t right. What she had done should not be justified in any way. If he cheated on her she sure as hell wouldn’t be reasoning with him on justification, she would not have even been willing to talk to him. Yet here he was, yelling at her, but at least he was giving her his opinion before he left. Though Micah simply moved behind the desk. His head hanging down low as he calmed himself down. That was one thing Micah was relatively good at; calming himself down. Which, that really helped things out a lot. They really didn’t need to be cutting each other’s throats out. That was why Ali was not going to fight back with all those comment that he had made.
She had to be honest about one thing though, twice with him was not enough. Now, that’s not in the bad way, it was more or less in the way that she never got enough of him, she always wanted more. She loved the way he was with her, and if she hadn’t had to go, she would have gone for another. It was really shocking how the two had been arguing, then Ali had apologized, he had a apologized. Ali kissed him, trying to make everything better for them. Then she had pulled him on top of her onto the bed, and then they had passionate make up sex. That was the best type of sex. Make up sex. And, she had to admit that it had been amazing. Both trying to prove how sorry and how much they cared for the other. That was what made it so great. Wait, What? What did he do? Oh you’ve got to be kidding. What did he do? Micah had done nothing. He hadn’t done a damn thing. Ali had gotten over his job. Just because he did that didn’t mean that that was who he was. He was the man that she loved, and the man she would love. No matter what went down in that empty office.
Micah had done nothing to deserve what she had done to him, and that statement right there brought the girl to tears. The little water drop rolling down her cheeks and onto her shirt. How could he even think that he had done anything. She wanted so badly to be able to walk up to him and hold him, to kiss him, and to tell him that he had done nothing, and that she was more sorry that he could ever know. That would never happen. Micah would never let her touch him again, and that thought only made everything so much worse. He was never going to look at her the way she loved. Him looking at her with those soft blue eyes with such compassion that just made her heart skip a beat. She was never going to get that again. Micah was always so confident with himself. Always so self assured. Now he was questioning himself on account of her. Damn. What the hell. What she had done was inexcusable. It was something that would have caused her to dump any man. Well, she didn’t thinks he would have dumped Micah over a cheating mishap. She cared for him way to much, but Micah had dealt with a lot from her the day before, and there is only so much one man can take. Maybe she wasn’t worth being loved. Maybe Brit had been right that night. Who as she to think such an amazing man could actually love her. Well, she shouldn’t. Micah shouldn’t love her. It was not in his best interest to be loving her. Why was he? What about her made him so gung hoe to be dating her, sleeping with her, loving her?
Now Ali wasn’t going to fight with him. Her baby blue looked square back into his own. His tone had calmed down a little, and he just looked hurt. ”What did I do, Ali? What did I do that pushed you to go to him?”. That was all it took to break Ali down to nothing. That one little statement. What did I do that pushed you to go to him. That was all that kept replaying in her mind. Everything else had just slipped away. She glanced down at the floor, her head hanging, rather in defeat, if you will. She had been defeated, and this was the worst defeat ever. She was going to lose him. He as good as gone. ”Well… twice with you is not enough, Micah. I am always going to want more of you. Whenever I am around you that’s all I can think about, however that is not the point.” Ali now picked her head up, running a hand through her slightly darker hair to get it out of her eyes. ”I am not going to try and make up excuses for what I did, but if you want to know… I will tell you what happened.” Ali waited for a response, and the look in Micah’s eyes was enough to tell her that he was waiting. ”I didn’t intend to cheat on you. I was upset. Micah, you job not only endangers you, but it endangers everyone around you, and I was worried more about you than anything. I had gotten over it though. After we had sex I had gotten over everything. It’s your job, Micah, not who you are. So, I needed a few drinks. So I came here, only intending to drink… one or two cosmos. But, cosmos had gone to tequila, and tequila had gone to vodka, and vodka went to whiskey. I mean, I cannot remember what happened. All I remember is leaving the next day from his house.” She broke off again, the tears still moving fluidly down her cheeks. She brought a hand up, wiping them away almost angrily. She was angry with herself for doing what she had done, and for showing such a weakness with him right then. Micah was her weakness, he was one of her few weaknesses. ”I came here tonight to tell you. I was going to tell you myself, but he… I guess he felt the need to tell you about it. I would have come earlier to tell you, but… I got my hair done, and other less important stuff. However it’s not important. If you just forgive me, we can… We can work past this.” Micah was watching her intensely. His eyes had been filled with such hurt that she could almost feel it moving through her. An intense feeling of betrayal, the kind you got when your best friend slept with your fiancé. The kind when you were two and someone took your candy away. It was something that Ali never wanted to feel ever again, yet she had pushed it onto him like it was nothing. Lord help her, what had she done?
The his face turned a little harder as Ali took a few stride to come and stand on the side of the desk opposite to him. She apparently had said something that he didn’t like. She thought she knew what it was that she had said. Micah continued to lean against the desk. Looking at her who was just so fidgety, and nervous of what he would do. Though Micah only glared a little at her. ”You actually think we can fucking move past this. You screwed the man I freaking hate with a passion, Ali.” With that Micah started towards the door. She figured her was either going to tell her to get out, or he was leaving. However, Ali was not letting that happen. Her little hand grasped his arm, catching him off guard and she topped him, almost pulling him back to her. She wasn’t going to let him just leave without her being able to finish. She wasn’t done with this, and she didn’t want to be done with him either. She could see his jaw set, but she didn’t release his arm. ”Micah, wait… I am not done.” Micah stood for a minute, but when Ali wasn’t finding the words to say he started to pull away. Ali knew she had to say something. She had to just do something to make him realize that it was an accident, she was drunk, and nothing like that would ever happen again. Her grip tightened on his wrist. ”Mikey, I love you.” The tears flowed freely down her cheeks but she kept from sobbing, she knew she had to maintain her composure at all times. So she waited. He was still standing there, that was a good sign, right?
