i’m medicated, just hoping that it’ll fly by, but sometimes i need to take a breath and i’ll be alright.
The only reason he was here, at the actually quite beautiful scenic coastline, was because of that awful little bag of fur. Liisi was an adorable dog, but her excessive need to, quite literally, drag Aiden everywhere was starting to gnaw at his last nerve. It was no wonder that Brendin had left her with him. But she was his little heating blanket puppy, and so he dealt with it. He’d missed her almost as much as he’d missed Brendin, and that was saying something. “Chill out, you little freaking flea bag,” Aiden said with a small giggle, and she looked up at him with her quizzical, black doe-eyes before charging forward again. It was surprising that such a little dog could pull him along, but, then again, he wasn’t as big as Brendin, either, and Liisi probably reveled in the joy of being able to pull someone instead of having to sit back and walk at their pace. And it didn’t really matter to Aiden, anyway, because as long as she didn’t run him into someone, he’d be alright with letting her drag him wherever she pleased. Except for, you know, into the ocean. Or a pool. Because Aiden is one of those losers who couldn’t swim to save his life. But anyway. Glancing at the not-so-very-far-off coast, his head tipped to the side, wondering why he’d never come here before, until bam!—he ran into an angry looking passerby. Whoops. Liisi’s antics finally began to grate on his last nerve and he pulled at her leash, hearing a small whine emit from her short little body. “Oh hush, you aren’t the one running into people here, liebe, when that happens to you, then we’ll talk.” Oh yeah, that was real sane– talking to a dog as if she’d talk back? Yeah, just wonderful. Sign him up for the next bus to Rubberroomville.
Strangely, Aiden hadn’t been very.. eh, depressed? stressed? what’s the word I’m looking for here? lately, but that could’ve had something to do with the little habit he’d developed. Well, it wasn’t exactly daily, more so every few days, and so it wasn’t completely bad– but it was probably going to head that way, and he didn’t want that. He knew he should’ve stopped his little Xanax snorting parties, but he couldn’t help it– he loved the sudden calm that lasted for what felt like days. It wasn’t healthy, but, then again, neither was his drinking habit– he’d already admitted that he was an alcoholic, what else did the world want? Nearly tripping over something that probably wasn’t even there, Aiden shook his head, pushing the black strands of hair from out of his eyes and glancing down at Liisi, who had an angelic look on her face, trying to divert the blame from her. Dropping to his knees beside the Corgi, Aiden gave a small grin, pretending to rough her up as she stood upon her short back legs to lick at his face as if she would die if she didn’t. “Eww, puppy breath.” He said lightly, wiping off his face as he unclasped the leash from her standard black pleather collar and letting her run off to the beach-like shoreline close by. She was pretty good about coming back whenever she heard a certain signal, and so Aiden wasn’t worried about it, stuffing his hands into the pockets of his girls’ levis as he scrunched up his face lightly and surveyed what was around him. He felt a bit uncomfortable here, because it wasn’t a place he would usually go, even when it was about an hour or so from sundown.
Removing his hands from his pockets, Aiden tugged at the hem of his Rob Zombie tee shirt and followed Liisi’s path to the shoreline where she was playing in the shallows of the ocean, sitting a ways away from the rising and falling tide. He really didn’t feel like getting wet right about now, especially not when he’d probably flip out and think the ocean was coming after him to drown him. Yes, he’s quite mental, bear with me. Liisi suddenly ran at him, barking in her cute, high pitched voice, dripping water all over his lap and leaving wet paw prints wherever she stepped on him. “Liis! Awh, come on, give me a break!” Aiden said, sighing a bit and running his hand over his face in a slightly frustrated manner. Looking back at her, he saw her sitting on the sand in front of him with her head tipped, and, upon seeing it, his heart melted. She was such a cute little bugger! So sickly cute. Like Monroe. Shaking his head, he rubbed a hand across her ears and heard her give another bark before running back toward the ocean and back, repeating the gesture a few times. “Uh, no, don’t think so, Liisface, go play.” Aiden said, pointing to where she obviously wanted to go and hearing her give a little whine. He shook his head, pretending to stand so that she would go and returning to the ground a moment later, his legs crossed Indian-style and his elbows resting on his knees. “Little bugger.” He said absently to himself, lightly pushing his hair out of his eyes as he watched her to make sure she wouldn’t come at him with wet paws again. As if he really needed to be covered in puppy prints that made him soaking wet. Right. Tipping his head to the side lightly, he bit his lip, a soft sigh ushering from his lungs as he looked at the ground finally, his face scrunching up as he thought he saw something shiny. Well, way to be adhd, Aide, good job.

Carmen hastily rummaged around in her messenger bag that she always had with her now, it seemed. Eventually, she pulled out an overly used tube of chap-stick. Of course, she was too tight on money to buy the actual name brand stuff, so she always settled for cheaper ones. She only went through one thing a week--- at least. Carmen slowly applied the lip ointment for a minute or so before dropping it back into her bag as she continued to walk down the sidewalk. Her freshly dyed blond hair slowly fell into her line of vision. Quickly fanning it out of her face she saw someone who looked a bit familiar. Maybe her imagination was playing tricks on her, but she could have sworn that she was looking straight at the back of Aiden's head. Maybe a few closer steps could verify it. Carmen crept forward slowly, her eyes searching over the boys body for anything familiar. Is it? She muttered quietly to herself. Indeed it was. There was no mistaking that boy. Period.
Her mind held onto the day that they had first met. He had been kind and caring, even for a stranger. It meant a lot to her. Gosh, that had been ages ago. Time sure did fly when you lose touch with someone. Carmen wasn't about to let this opportunity escape her to talk to him, though. Not this time. Again, she slowly crept up behind him, gently shuffling her feet so that he would know someone was coming. At least, that is what she liked for people to do when they came up behind her. Well, who do we have here? She said, her voice in an unusually happy tone. Awaiting a reply, she again, took out her chap stick and began applying it. The stuff was addicting and she had an addictive personality in the first place. Nice. Perfect. Whatever.
Gradually, she picked at the ends of her mid back length hair. Another bad habit. Another stupid situation. Another day in the life of Carmen. There was no doubt in her mind that the boy wouldn't remember her. Oh well, one less person to buy a Christmas present for, right? Why had she even walked up to him to talk to him? Another dumb moment. What was wrong with her these days? Hmm, cute dog. Sidetracked, much? To Carmen, all her life was anymore was a joke. Plain, pure and simple.
[[[ooc;; three cheers for crummyyy replies!!!]]]

Aiden’s head lifted a bit as he heard a slight scuffing sound from behind him, a mildly confused look crossing over his face as he looked over his shoulder and heard the voice break the silence. And he gave a smile. Carmen. He hadn’t saw the girl in forever, it seemed, and it was a bit of a shock to see her here. But then again, he was the one who had become the ‘agoraphobic’, so it wasn’t any surprise that he hadn’t saw her. “Awh, you forgot my name even after I got you those hella cool bandaids? Pshh, I love you too!” He said teasingly, giving a small laugh and watching as she continued to line her lips with chap stick. Was she a vampire or something and afraid to go out without UV protection?! That would’ve been hella fucking cool. For some reason, Aiden had always had a small obsession with vampires, and for awhile he had compared nearly everything to vampirism– it seemed like that habit was starting up again, and he didn’t really mind. Although most people would’ve thought he was retarded. But who didn’t think he was retarded these days? Of course Michael thought it, Brendin knew it (although it was always jokingly), Caine was probably wary and Liisi– well, Liisi was just as retarded, but she was cuter than he was, so it made up for her lack of sense. Only a lot.
Having returned his attention back to Carmen, Aiden was about to speak again when Liisi came up and started standing on him again, her wet paws creating puppy prints again and again on his jeans and causing him to shiver. He gave a little groan of distaste and tapped her nose lightly, which made her look at him like he’d threatened to bring on the end of the world. “How have you been?” He asked lightly, his question directed at the girl close behind although his gaze remained on Liisi, trying to keep her from jumping back on him. Finally he just stood, tired of the never-ending threat of water ruining his jeans, and glanced at Carmen with a small smile, his head tipped lightly to the side as he waited for her answer. He was surprised that she hadn’t turned and stalked off yet for something he hadn’t known he’d been doing, but his posture didn’t let on to his surprise– he stood relaxed, well, as relaxed as you could get when you have a midget dog threatening to try and pants you in public. Liisi was a little trouble maker, just like her owner. Shaking his head lightly, he pushed the thick black fringe from his eyes and glanced back at Carmen, wondering what she’d been up to since that day in the mall.
