Hello! My name is Katie !
I am 14.
I have been roleplaying for two years , and here is a sample post of mine.
Sample: Rhyan strode down the dirt path, quietly humming to herself. The atmosphere was a pleasurable one, not too hot, not too cold, just...perfect. Wonderful morning. She thought to herself. The wind picked up a bit, and her light hair gently started to blow with the flow of the wind. She always loved how when she ran, or skipped, how the wind would tickle her face, and her hair would flow all around her in a big mess. She loved also how when she ran, the wind would ring lightly in her ears, making everything sound very dynamic.
She felt the wind pick up, and her hair start to billow even more. The change made a shiver slowly travel down her spine, and she embraced herself in her arms. Even with her black fleece jacket, she could still feel the cold all around her, and how it hit her fingers everytime she moved.
There was nothing Rhyan loved more than the fresh morning of the transitional state between autumn and winter. Everything seemed so mutual, the color of the leaves, the atmosphere, and even the people. Everyone knew the holidays were slowly creeping upon them, and everyone knew of the wonderful treasures that come with this time of year. Just the thought of it made a smile slowly creep upon her cold face, and when she exhaled a small cloud escaping her lips was a mere sigh.
While counting her paces, something she does when bored, she heard other footsteps. She stopped entirely, just to make sure that it wasn't just her mind, but she was right, there was other people. She was curious as to who was out this early, at this time of year. She thought that she was the only one crazy enough to do so.
{ .Rhyan Ghellar.
Name: Rhyan Ghellar
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Straight
Social Standing: High School Junior
Physical Appearance:
Hair: Rhyan has brunette hair that travels a little past her mid back. Her hair is usually down, nothing special is usually done to her hair. Her bangs dart across her left eye, so she mainly sees out of her left eye. Her highlights she got when she was sixteen still shine through, at the bottom, of course. When the sun is shining, her hair looks five shades lighter.
Face: Rhyan's skin is a mild tan color. Her cheeks are usually a light maroon color. When she blushes or is terribly embarrased, her cheeks turn a very dark red. She has a good complexion, what is standard for a seventeen year old girl. There is always usually a smile that shines on her young face.
Eyes: Rhyan's eyes are a mixture of many different colors. In different light, her eyes almost seem like totally different colors then what they usually are. Her usual eye colors are a light green, with a smokey grey color. On rare occasions, her eyes almost look shocking blue. On most days, her eyes are hidden behind black eyeliner, which she tries to wear everyday. Rhyan hates it that when she yawns, her eyes water up, and it looks as though she just had a long cry.
Physique: Rhyan stands at five foot six. She is happy with her height, but she wouldn't mind growing a couple more inches. She looks very small and whimpy, but she is actually quite strong. One look at her and you'd think she's the short girl who sits in the library all day. In other words, she looks very athletically inclined.
Rhyan has a decent figure, but sometimes she wishes she could have more of a 'hourglass' type figure, instead of her normal figure.
Style: Rhyan dresses mainly how she wants to. Her most favorite piece of apparel in the world is jeans. Granted she is a big fan of shirts too, she just obsesses with jeans. Her everyday outfit usually consists of jeans, of course, and a regular graphic tee, and her black jacket. She has this black fleece coat that she absolutely adores. She would wear it everyday for the rest of her life if she could.
Her black converse shoes are almost her life. She wears them everyday, anywhere. They are a bit worn out now, but she likes the 'worn in' feel and look of them. Her only jewelry that she wears is usually a pair of earrings and the necklace her best childhood friend had gotten her for her first Christmas as a teenager.
Personality:
Rhyan doesn't always act like a girl. When she was little, all of the girls on her block played with dolls, while Rhyan, chopped the heads off of dolls. She didn't usually fit the "girl" stereotype, and it didn’t bother her one bit. Rhyan doesn't care what people think or say about her, she is quite content with being Rhyan Marie Ghellar.
Rhyan is usually a very jubilant person, and she can lighten up the mood in any room. She almost always has a smile plastered on her face, and her eyes sometimes say more than she does. It takes a while for her to get mad at someone, she will only feel anger if they do something really really bad. She finds almost anything funny, and she is somewhat immature. She will laugh at the dumbest things she sees or hears, but when she laughs, it is contagioues. Rhyan knows the difference between right and wrong, and she knows when it is a time to laugh and when it is a time to buckle down and take things seriously. Like school for example, Rhyan is very passionate about school, and strives to learn a new thing everyday. The main reason she strives to learn, is because she knows her father makes almost to nothing, and she knows that there is three children he is going to have to send through college, and two are already in college, struggling to keep up with their payments. Hopefully by getting some sort of scholarship will ease some financial issues for him.
Growing up with brothers, she hardly ever had decent 'girl time.' She falls back somewhat on her social rankings at school with all of the girls just because she doesn't know 'who's going out with who.' She thinks that sports and issues around the world are a bit more important as opposed to which celebrity just got a nose job. As much as she tries to keep up with which two celebrites have just divorced, or who in the school is doing what, she always seems to not be quick enough.
Rhyan could be described as 'a social retarded.' She usually has no clue what to say to people, and is usually very tactless. Sometimes she is very blunt, and just blurts out whatever is on her mind, which can certainly get her into trouble. From her brothers, she is very sarcastic and is facious if not all, most of the time. She has to have the last word in everything, wheter it be a debate, or a friendly conversation with one of her friends. Because of her lack of people knowledge, she falls behind in friend count. She has really only had two good friends in her life time, both which she had to leave when her family moved to Seattle.
Rhyan is utterly and completely competitive. She loves winning. If she loses, you do not want to be within twenty feet of her. She will compete in just about anything, whether it be a game, or who can get dressed the fastest, she is all about beating the competition. She loves the drive you feel when you win, and the contempt for the other team when you loose. Rhyan strives to be the best at everything, mainly because she feels like she has to prove to everyone that she is not some little girl. Rhyan always wants to beat the guys. She wants to prove that she is as strong, maybe stronger, than them. She wants to have respect from them, but knows that it won't be all that easy.
History:
Rhyan was raised by her dad and four brothers. Her mother died when Rhyan was just two years old. Every moment Rhyan is lucky enough to remember her mother, she doesn't take them for granted. Rhyan grew up in an all male house hold, which sometimes taught her brawns over brains. Her brothers sometimes taught her that violence was the way to get anything done, and she has had problems in school for fighting with other students.
It was hard for Rhyan growing up, seeing as though she did not have a mother. For that matter, she hardly had any 'gal-friends' that she could turn to for girl advice. Sometimes, Rhyan thinks she might as well be one of the guys, that someone messed up in picking her gender. She never liked what girls liked, boys, the color pink, little dogs, and shopping. She was more into sports, video games, and just hanging out with friends.
At age thirteen, just entering the seventh grade, Rhyan met one of her friends, Brenda. Brenda convinced her to try and act and dress like a girl for the entire seventh grade year. Rhyan took her advice, and tried it, dressing in nice dress clothes, and burring herself under pounds of unnecessary make-up. As predicted by any normal human being, it did not turn out well. She ended up making a fool out of herself, and was from now on known as the 'girl-wannabe.' She thought it was a lame name, but it stuck with her until her father packed up the family and moved to Seattle, Washington.
After moving to Seattle, Rhyan attended Ballard High School for her freshman and sophomore year. She had an amazing mind for math. Everyone thought it was her definite calling. She loved to figure out equations, and evaluating terms and variables. She was in A.P calculus by the end of her sophomore year. She has continued to excel in math, and will pursue her passion for the subject.
When Rhyan turned fourteen, Santa brought her an acoustic guitar. Several months after that, she would not let the guitar out of her sight. To her, it was the greatest thing on the planet. She instantly took up lessons, and after two years almost sounded like a pro. Her guitar occupied most of her time when she couldn't be outside running around because of the seasonal Seattle rain.
Even today Rhyan still practices endlessly on her guitar, and every time she falls in love with the beautiful sound it makes. She has played a few sets, but to her, it's just another night. She dreams of one day having someone listen to her play.
