everybody stops what they're doing when they pass this street. but its not really a street anymore, more like a very very long chipped and broken brick wall with hundreds upon thousands of tiny posters and notes pinned, glued and taped to it. the edges of the posters are worn with age and some are falling and vanishing in the ground. flowers rested along the top and bottom make it look like some sort of monument. have you seen my child? its the question burning on all desperate concerned parent's lips. no body knows where these missing children have gone, and nobody really cares. know why? i could tell you, if you really want to know. this place is the one part of the city almost completely deserted, save for the lonely animal trying to find a home and the odd teenage parent rejected by their family. graffiti can be seen in almost every alley way. houses are battered and windows are smashed. if it were possible, could anyone really survive in such conditions? why are the children running away?
this is new york city. thousands of miles away from the run down little corner town of this city stands the brilliant attraction with the resources to make you famous. you would almost think this city is from a completely different part of the globe with its high beautifully made buildings, theatres with infinite possibilities, cafes linned up like you see them in italy and the atmosphere of busy people running their ordinary lives. you want to be a part of this, you tell yourself. you want to me famous and seen in the spotlight. you want to find the missing children, run away or otherwise stolen. you want to invent new and amazing things for others to use. your passion takes you to writing and becoming world famous. you want this life, you say. you want it, you want it! can you get it? how can you? you have the drive, the energy and the features needed to do what you want, but you can't find out how to kick start your career in to stardom.
ny high is a famous college situated in the middle of the city. if you come here you can take on any subject you want to take you that extra mile. it has a great reputation on the outside of the school. parents are pleased with sending their children here and the waiting list to come in is beginning to grow. on the inside the image is quite different. students still learn things, there is no lie there, because the exam pass rate is high. but the groups formed in this school, the cliques, quite literally change who you are; who you thought you were. the person you came here to be isn't necessarily the person you'll walk away as. every kind of student comes here from every type of clique. even some of the missing runaways come here to hide under new names.
drugs, sex and late night parties are just some of the forbidden things you can get yourself caught up in. are you just here to try and work your way to the top, or are you a runaway child trying to begin a new life and a fresh new start?
are you scared?
