joscelin elliot grey!

let's get physical,
height: five foot one. weight: ninetyeight pounds. hair color: brown. eye color: dark brown-ish black. tattoos/piercings: tongue peicing - age seventeen; belly button peircing- age nineteen; small broken heart on inner left wrist- age twnety-one. portrayed by: paul griffiths.
physical appearance in depth: One of the first things that might attract your attention to our interesting little boy would probably have to be Jos' favorite feature: his hair. Joscelin seems to rather enjoy the world's latest trend of shaggy, somewhat lengthy, messily styled hairstyles. The boy's hair is his prized possession, although his gorgeous mocha brown locks are frequently dyed to suit his latest desires. Although just now becoming a frequent style, Joscelin usually defines his hair by adding chunks of vibrant, off key highlights to define the naturally deep colored brown strands, much too afraid of damaging his precious hair by dying all of it. Although at first glance his hair might appear thin, it is actually quite the opposite, the body and volume of his treasured hair almost to the point of irritability. Typically, Jos styles his own hair - much too afraid of someone fucking it up if he were to visit a salon and allow a stranger to begin hacking away at his hair - and in doing so is quite skilled at creating a well defined shagged out style that is completely his own. Trying copying him now, fuckers. Although Jos is not one for labels, and can't exactly understand why people choose to treat him as if he were a soup can, it seems that he cannot defer the oh-so-inevitable labeling which seems to refer to his style as the typical 'emo sceneter'. I think.
Although certainly not his favorite feature, Joscelin's eyes are probably one of his better liked attributes. Jos' deep chocolate pools are often changing invariably with his fickle little indecisive mind, the lighter, mocha brown shades becoming the dominating shades on days when his memory seems to do him better, the gorgeous mocha color giving him a some what clear headed appearance. On the ever numerous days when he is more forgetful than not, a deep brown, almost black, shade seems to muddle in the boy's gorgeous irises, as if expressing his confusion with the world. So in some sense, I guess that old cliche proverb about the eyes being a window to your soul is true to some extent with our little Jos, just maybe more so a window to his better days. The sad truth, though, is that Joscelin loathes the way that his eyes reveal his mindset for the day. Or week. He sometimes just wishes that he could be like every other normal person and have a normal mind for just one day where he doesn't have to worry about getting lost on the way home or even forget that he's moved away from New York City. But he knows damn well that that's never going to happen, he's been damned with this curse and he's going to have to live with it, no matter how painful and confusing it may be.
Jos has always been on the small side, and was always one of the shorter kids in class, which I'm assuming has had some kind of advantage in his ever confusing life. Standing at about five foot one to five foot three, he has always been a tad bit self conscious about his height, wishing that he would finally just fucking grow up like everyone else. Hah, fat chance. And so Joscelin has reluctantly grown to accept this fact though, and simply refers to himself as 'fun-sized' or occasionally even 'vertically challenged' rather than short, finding that giving himself these nicknames took the sting out of the inevitable teasing that came his way. But who ever said that fun things couldn't come in small packages? Hand in hand with his small stature goes Jos's minuscule weight, never weighing more than one hundred pounds he has numerously been considered underweight, and has been questioned on the subject of bulimia and anorexia many times, although these nor any other sickness has played a role in Joscelin's small body. He simply does not stuff himself full of life consuming fatty food and such, so he's just... little. Though don't get me wrong, Jos loves his share of comfort foods such as chocolate and ice cream on his ever popular days when his memory fails him, somehow taking comfort in the fact that he could just as easily fit in with the other ninety percent of the human population by becoming grossly overweight, although this would not and could not ever happen, Jos has much too high of metabolism and is much too active to allow himself to simply sit around and gain any weight.

personality: When you first meet Jos, he usually comes across as a pretty shy and maybe even a somewhat awkward kid, but once you spend a little time to talk to him and to get to know him, you'll learn that Jos is actually rather outgoing and energetic. Once he opens up, Jos is normally a riot to be around popping off smartass remarks and all the while still able to retain that kiddyish nature that he so loves. All in all, Jos is a pretty sweet kid sweet kid and generally he’ll go out of his way just to help someone he doesn’t even know if it looks as if they need it. He has a noticeable innocent aura around him, but he seems to be the only one who doesn’t notice it and often, those who don't know him consider him to be quite naive because of this innocent appearance. Once Jos begins to open up, there are quite a few things that set him apart from all of those other boys out there. For as long as he–or anyone else who knows him–can remember he's always had a very outgoing and kiddy-ish personality. Faced with the struggles of having severe ADHD and a mild case of OCD and a slight memory problem, there's no wonder Jos can effortlessly keep up his naive attentions during conversations. You go strike up a conversation and consider him mature when he bounces from talking about his life aspirations to talking about what it would be like to own a chicken mcnugget farm and then bounce from that subject to why chili is called chili when really, it's hot. I dare you. Meanwhile, there's a great chance that he'll suddenly pop off some smartass joke or comment and then the next minute be back to his bubbly, giggly, cute antics and not remember a thing about saying anything and once more go back to the fact that yes, Dustin does in fact owe him a chicken so that he can build his dream chicken farm and raise chicken mcnuggets before asking you if you want to go home with him and throw a slumber party. Simply put, although sometimes annoying and often repetitive, Jos is one of the most adorable kids you'll ever meet.
Adorable. That is the word that has been used to describe Jos for as long as he can remember. All though most boys dread the word and would much rather prefer to be called 'hot', or 'sexy', or even 'handsome', Jos eagerly embraces his childish demeanor and the word that is often used to describe him. Hell, if the shoe fits then you should be able to wear it. Unless your a chicken, because then you're doomed to eternity as a fish stick... Jos has always taken this constant compliment as another way of girls calling him childish and at the same time attractive, or something like that, he can't exactly remember, but he does recall the boy that explained that to him. Eric. Normally, Jos doesn't think that he is in the least bit good looking or what any boy would want to date, and so he rarely tries to hit on cute boys, but when he does occasionally make an attempt at flirting it's usually intensely pathetic yet all at the same time utterly adorable. Who doesn't love a boy who uses ancient pick up lines and an innocent little smile? Stumbling over words, mixing things up or just flat out forgetting what he was originally going to sat are problems of his, but all in all it has made him rather quick with whipping up half thought out pick up lines that usually come out all wrong but are adorable– even if he doesn't think they are. Jos is, undoubtedly, a virgin, having only dated a few boys in his lifetime, and when it comes to sex he's actually quite naive about the entire business, due to the over protectiveness of his parents. Although, don't get me wrong, Jos is just like any other boy out there, flaunting the fact that he does indeed know exactly how to put A into B and wiggle it around, when, actually, he has no idea what he is talking about. It's an ego thing, darling.
Although faced with an abnormally eccentric personality, Jos is actually a fairly modest person and when faced with compliments, he will almost undoubtedly grin like an idiot and try to brush the compliment off and try to change the subject or turn the compliments back to the other person. Truthfully, he feels uncomfortable when complimented, well, more so embarrassed than flattered, because he is used to getting off hand compliments only on his bubbly personality. It is well known that many people are more in love with Jos' personality than they are with the boy himself, many people have admitted that they at first do not realize his true potential at being considered gorgeous because of the uncanny way he has with meeting new friends. You try telling some boy he's gorgeous when he'd standing in the middle of the side walk screaming 'JoBob you filthy chicken get back here and make me some fucking nuggets- oh hey look, a penny..' Yeah, that's what I thought. While seemingly shameless, Jos can be pretty shy around new people, or the people he comes to like in a ‘more than a friend’ way, though his hyperactivity and attention deficiency usually deceives this. He often masks his shyness with an even more outgoing and random personality that puts most people off so that it isn’t really noticeable. Though if someone happens to see through him, he will, more than likely, either promptly change the subject, or act like he doesn't understand you and try to back out of the situation. Oddly, Jos doesn’t like being put on the spot for something as simple as having a crush on a boy. I mean, who does?
Jos has always hated forcing his prescene on someone or asking other people for things, no matter how small and petty they seem, even if they are happy to do whatever Jos asks or needs. Most of the time, Jos is paranoid, that they are only doing it because he asked and that they have much better things to do than help some helpless twenty-three year old kid out, and usually ends up irritating the shit out of people by asking them every five seconds if they really don't mind doing it and if they're mad at him for asking them. He's not exactly sure why he does this, but it has always been a problem with him. Even as a child, Jos would nearly drive his parents insane when asking for help with his homework because he hadn't been able to pay attention during his classes because there was a bird outside of the window and Timmy was making faces and then the fish were simming in circles, and so it would never fail, Jos would be sitting there patiently trying to listen and then look up at his mother and inevitably ask 'Are you sure you don't mind helping me? Because if you're mad because I didn't pay attention and you have to help me I could walk to Sarah's house.' This was one of the many things that somehow tipped his parents off and caused them to take him for tests only to learn that he had some sort of short term memory loss and could very easily forget things that he had said as few as fifteen minutes ago. As a child and teenager, Jos was almost always seen with his nose in a book, often the one he had been reading only the day before, and during his adolecence, Jos was teased a lot and the resulting issue was his very low self-conscious and self-esteem. Way to go, kids.
a little bit better,
history in depth: I suppose you expect some horror story of a complicated birth or even a complicated, single parent face with the beauty of a baby boy all on their own, but this isn't the case. Joscelin Elliot Grey was born to the young, happily married Tiffany Lee and Alexander Markus Grey at two oh four p.m. on August twenty-fifth twenty-three years ago. Joscelin was the young couple's first and only born child. The young newly weds couldn't have been happier with their healthy, vibrant bundle of joy.
Joscelin's childhood was nothing for the record books, his adolescent years nothing above the average. This was the age in his life when he began to develop a love for the things that every other child his age was beginning to discover: chocolate chip cookies, birthday parties and legos. Although lively and outgoing, Jos had always been slightly different from the other children, he had always been slightly more reserved, not bothering to go outside and play with all the other rambunctious children his own age, much more content with staying indoors and enjoying the wonders of finger paints and glitter glue. It was at this time that his parents began to notice his forgetful nature. It started out that he would forget his coat at school or he would forget to tell hi smother when he had homework or spelling tests coming up at school, but this seemed normal so Tiffany and Alex simply brushed it off, assuming that Joscelin's memory skills would eventually improve.
They didn't.
By his freshman year in high school, Jos hadn't gained any better control of his memory, and it seemed that things had gotten progressively worse over the years that passed. Now instead of only forgetting about unimportant things such as school work, coats, and the like he was also forgetting the kids that he had met only a short while a go. This defect pushed him further and further away from his peers, and his mother and father finally broke down and took young Joscelin to a psychologist in hopes of solving the mystery of Jos' mind. Freshman year seemed to fly by with numerous appointments to various psychiatrists and psychologists who all hoped to find a reason for his loss of memory, although all of their attempts seemed futile, for the verdict was all ways the same. 'There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with him, just a moderate case of attention deficit hyperactive disorder. It's probably just a phase he's going through, give him time and he'll grow out of it.'
Joscelin never did grow out of it. The rest of his high school years flew by void of friends or cherished memories, just a mindless routine that Jos had grown used to experiencing. Three months of the year would be spent at home or in summer camp, the other nine would be spent at the New York City high school. Any hopes that his parents might have had for Jos' college aspirations seemed to vanish into dust as his senior year approached and he struggled through his daily classes, trying to remember the things that had been drilled into each student's minds for the past four years. Joscelin graduated at the middle of his class, surprisingly well considering his attention problems and his father began to push him towards a college education, although Tiffany clung tight to her darling little Jos, much too afraid of letting him go off on his own.
At age nineteen, Joscelin's parents divorced and left him faced with the decision of choosing whom he would live with. He could spend his years happily sheltered under his mothers wings, or he could go to live with his father and be pressed with demands that he wasn't sure he could achieve. His father seemed to think that if he pushed Jos hard enough, that he would, in fact, get better at remembering things and he would succeed in life. Torn between his family, Joscelin asked his mother for two thousand dollars and bought a plane ticket to Seattle to get away from the stress of choosing one beloved parent over the other.
addictions: coffee. oh oh and schnops. yummyyummy. criminal record: n/a. aspirations: Jos has never had any really high aspirations for life, at a young age he realized that he would never be able to go to college and actually make anything of it what with his ADHD and short-term memory loss, it is very likely that he wouldn't be able to remember anything he learned in any of his college classes. So with this known, Jos has dreams of one day becoming a fashion designer or a hairstylist, although he's not too sure how well either of these ideas will go over with his attention issues. Aside from his work aspirations, Jos, like any other girl, dreams of getting married to the boy of his dreams and living in a quiant little house sharing morning coffees and whining about how his husband does nothing but lie around the house all day. ;3
