Rules are a part of everyday life. And of every RPG out there that wants any sort of order to be maintained on the site. So, here are the rules for the members of Crooked Hearts...

Joining:

• When you join the site, the first thing that you need to do is post your new character's application. Claims may be made after your application has been approved.
  
• Attendance is a must. I know that people have lives, but I do expect members to stay active. If you are going to be away for an extended period of time, there is a board to post it to let staff and members know. Use it.
  
• By joining and becoming a member of this site, you are agreeing that you have read these rules and understand them. Therefore, any violation of the rules of any member will not be tolerated.

Role Playing:

• This is an intermediate RPG. With this known, you should use proper grammar and spelling in your posts. [Use spell check, it's your friend.]
  
• Absolutely no chat speak in character.
  
• Posts must be a minimum of 400 words. As said before, this is an intermediate role play, and your posts need to show it. I understand that people have off days and that the muses aren't always with us, but please do try your best. If short posts become a frequent thing, you will be warned. [A word counter is at the bottom of the page that keeps track of your words for you as you type. You have no excuse not to know how many words are in your post.]
  
• No power playing. No mind readers. Common sense.
  
• Sexual content, swearing, drug abuse... it all happens in real life, and it is all allowed on this site. If you have a problem with this, then my advice to you is to not become a member of this site. It's rated PG-13+, and I'm not going to change that.
  
• As I already mentioned, swearing is allowed. There are no censored words on this site, but I don't want to see the "bad" words being every other word in a sentence. I gave you your free speech on this site without it being censored and you having to punctuate it differently to use it. I can take it away just as easily.
  
• You may tag another member if you wish for them to reply to your thread, but don't tag the same person all the time. And PLEASE, realize that people aren't at the computer 24/7 to reply to your posts. Give them time and be patient.

Graphics

• Signatures may be of your character only.
  
• No nudity.
  
• Signatures shouldn't be big enough to where they expand the screen. If they do, then either resize it, or find a different picture to use. A good size for signatures is 400x250.
  
• Avatars may be used for signatures.

OOC

• Don't fight with other members. It's just stupid and makes you and whoever you are fighting will look it.
  
• Do NOT spam. Anywhere. The c-box. The boards. If you do, you're gone.
  
• There is a board for advertising, and that had better be the only place that ads are posted.

And the most important rule of all...have fun with it. Make your plots interesting and your posts worth reading. That's the only way the site will work and keep drawing in new members.
